I know I've been lax with this blog, sorry, I've been busy trying to get some things done. But I couldn't resist sharing this with you.
Did anyone catch Private Practice last night? If I have ever seen a more riveting hour of television, I do not remember it. I could not move from the edge of my seat. Kadee Strickland portrayed Charlotte, the victim of a brutal rape and beating, at once a wounded animal and the strongest person I've ever seen. I was crying as my heart was breaking for her. You have to watch, even if you've never watched an episode. If she does not receive an Emmy for this performance, then there is no justice in the world.

Brothers & Sisters
Most of the Walker's made a reappearance on the show this week. Kitty made the quickest recovery in history from losing Robert. Why she would think Nora was gay simply because she saw her hugging a strange woman, after she followed her, is beyond me.
Justin seems to be on the right track, helping Holly rather than focusing on getting Rebecca to come home. Now, I didn't like Holly last week, at all, but I rather enjoy the one that perks up whenever Justin comes over to see her. I don't like that she and what's-his-name (her real husband, Ken Olin) are off in their own little storyline, there should be more integration of the stories.
Kevin found his humanity again, helping the young man he would have left sleeping in the streets last week. And Sarah has finally realized that she cannot just be Paige's friend. Who takes their teenage daughter to a big underwear campaign launch with free booze flowing everywhere and doesn't keep an eagle eye on her? Luc was yummy as usual.
But, I'm sorry, I don't buy Nora working for a florist. REALLY? She would never make enough money to make a difference that way. Work with Sarah on what to do with all that valuable land with all that much needed water under it, silly.

Grey's Anatomy
Well, it was great to see Lexa-pedia again last night, I've missed her. I suffered through blonde Lexi last year after McSteamy spurned her, but it was great to see her back in fighting form (sorry Sloan, you're gonna have to work a lot harder to get back what you let slip through your hands). I was also glad Meredith finally told Derek about the miscarriage, that had gone on too long. I still don't get all the speeding Derek is doing, but I guess PTSD comes in many forms.
Speaking of PTSD, who else wasn't shocked when Christina (who's been a Robot since the show came back) hit the floor like a ton of bricks when someone knocked over a tray in the O.R. and it sounded like gunshots? Now Owen can take care of her while she gets over her PTSD. Loved his speech at the end, loved Meredith's quip that she "already fixed her before you got here" even better.
So what are we supposed to call the new Psych Dr? McSmarty? I vote for McHotty!

America's Next Top Model
Is it just me or is this really a group of ugly girls this season? I know Tyra likes them awkward and stupid looking, but come on! The only one remotely likable is Ann and she's the freakiest looking one of the bunch. She takes some good pictures, but looks almost like a man when she's not made up.
So this week the challenge was to convey a set look while riding a roller coaster. Can you say "jump the shark"? Did Vogue Italia really sign up for this crap? Only one girl managed to show anything close to what they expected of her and that was Liz. Good job, I guess, not that impressed with the whole thing. The photoshoot was shot through water , beauty shots with the girls lying on their backs looking like mermaids and modeling jewelry. Good job done by most of them, still don't understand the call out order AT ALL. Anyway, Rihanna was found lacking and she went home. Really?? Her picture was so much better than Liz's and she wasn't a whiny baby about it.
Maybe it's my prejudice speaking (since my daughter was a part of Cycle 13), but what happened to the pretty girls? Did the fact that you had almost all pretty girls in the petite cycle ruin things for you Tyra so that you only even look at weird looking girls now?

Some good, some BAD
Alright, so I finally got to watch 90210 yesterday, and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. Yeah, the creepy teacher and Naomi's reaction to being raped is a good storyline, but the rest of it, NO, just NO. Dixon freaks because his girlfriend is a Virgin? Right. Annie gets approached about donating her eggs? Sure, no matter that she's probably not of legal age. I think I may be done with this show.
On to better things, One Tree Hill has come back with some good stuff this year. Quinn and Clay being all half-dead and hanging around while watching their loved ones worry about them has been different. They even had me believing for a minute that they were going to actually kill Clay, even though I knew they had just cut a new opening with him in it. Cool twist in the end there. Victoria taking the heat for what she did with the books, way to finally start to redeem her. My only beef with this show is that there is WAY too much Jamie and half the time I want to punch his little face.
Last year Glee was definitely my favorite new show of the year. Our entire family watches it. But I have to say that if the Season Premiere had been the Series Premiere, I would not be a die-hard Gleek. To say that it was lacking is an understatement. There was virtually no one likeable in that episode. Hated Sue (love to hate her), hated Shue for most of it (love him), hated Rachel more than usual, hated the new he/she football coach, I think I even hated Finn for putting up with Rachel's crap. Hey writer's, these are supposed to be lovable characters!
Anyway, last night's episode was a step back in the right direction. Mr Schuester was back, Rachel was a little less self involved, Finn stood up for himself, Emma was adorable as usual, John Stamos's dentist added nicely to the mix and we got Britney Spears on top of all of it. Nice job. Keep on turning them out like that and I won't turn in my Gleek Card just yet.
Parenthood was my favorite mid-season replacement last year. They have come back this season just as strong and do not disappoint. Sarah's getting her feet wet in the corporate world while trying to impress her daughter with how cool she is, Adam can't take it that his Asperger's son has no interest in anything he has to say, Julia's got baby fever while her husband can only see himself saddled with diapers for the next 3 years, and poor Crosby can't get a break from his baby mama's mama (baseball is your church?, best line of the night) Great show all around
Tonight brings ANTM, the Finale of She's Got the Look, and Hellcats (great new guilty pleasure)

What was that?
I haven't gotten to watch 90210 yet, still riding HIGH on the BEARS VICTORY over the Sad-Packs! I'll try to watch it later and let you know what I thought. I did catch a quick glimpse of Dancing with the Stars and I must say, OH MY, DO THEY HAVE SOME TRAINWRECKS!! More on this later.
On tap tonight, Glee, One Tree Hill, and Parenthood to name a few.

DVR Set
My DVR was set for Dancing with the Stars and 90210 (one of those guilty pleasures I told you about) tonight. But I'm going to have to skip Dancing this week (OH NO!), as it's Bears vs Packers on Monday Night Football and the Pack is GOING DOWN!!!!!!
Catch my wrap up of 90210 tomorrow and I'll try to catch the highlights (are there any?) of Dancing with the Stars. Maybe one of you could watch it for me and let me know what you think!
